Marika Aubrey

Marika is a graduate of Theatre Nepean (2002). Screen credits include All Saints (7 Network), Spirited (Southern Star), and feature film Feed. In 2007 she won the Showcase Award in the Annual Sydney Cabaret Showcase, and in 2008 was nominated for ‘Best Actress’ in Short, Sweet and Song.  Later that year, Marika starred in Kookaburra: The National Musical Theatre Company productions of musicals I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change and Songs for A New World.

Solo shows include CAUTION: Aggressive Birds which saw her named Best Cabaret Performer 2009 (Aussietheatre.com) and REDHEAD, which premiered at The Adelaide Cabaret Festival in 2010, before touring to NYC, and across Australia. Marika was nominated for a GLUG award for ‘Best Actress in a Musical or Cabaret’ for her performance in REDHEAD.

Whilst at The Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Marika featured in the Opening Night Gala Concert and worked with Liz Callaway & Stephen Schwartz in a concert of his work Stephen Schwartz & Friends. In 2011, Marika understudied the Australian tour of Jason Robert Brown Live in Concert, as well as headlining with composers Georgia Stitt & John Bucchino in Concert (Bris & Syd). Marika was then honoured to join the workshop cast of James Millar & Pete Rutherford’s new musical A Little Touch of Chaos, playing Sue, before starring opposite Rob Mills in The Last Five Years.
